Our Choir Master

Mr Paul Bellamy

Paul is a Worcester-based singer, teacher and performer who loves nothing better than being sung at by large groups of people. His musical career began whilst at primary school with the coveted role of ‘Shepherd 2’ in his class nativity play, and continued through his high school years as a member of several bands, orchestras and choirs. After gaining his Honours Degree in music and education, Paul started teaching and performing around the country, and has worked variously as an actor/performer, backing singer, choral director, musical director, instrumentalist, cabaret singer, arranger and soloist. He was head of singing at Worcester College of Technology for over a decade, and now runs his own private teaching practice in Worcester. He also directs two community choirs and has co-founded the Fair Share Theatre company. Most recently, he began working for the Armonico Consort as choirmaster for the Warwick Memory Choir. He joined the Broadway Village Voices as musical director in September 2021 and thoroughly enjoys his Monday nights with V.V. He has proudly watched them go from strength to strength as they continue to perform in and around the Cotswolds.

New members very welcome.

1What the members think....

'Paul is a rare find! He is a gifted, charismatic, humorous Musical Director! I feel energised and liberated after each rehearsal and you leave with a spring in your step and a smile on your face.'  Sian.

'The thing about Paul is he exudes positivity and joy. You can come to choir feeling like he cares of the world rest on your shoulders and he will walk into the room and quite simply just light up your life. for those two hours your an amazing singer, a pretty girl at the back, of whom Paul is proud and you walk out feeling uplifted.  Sarah.

'Paul certainly has a gift for music but also a natural ability to instil that love of music to the choir through his energy and enjoyment. He makes the difficult task of creating harmonies appear easy by making the whole experience fun for us all to learn new pieces. Our public performances have improved significantly as everyone has raised their game and indeed their voices with Pauls excellent direction.  Tom
